a note on pricing

I am committed to a fair pricing model and community support. I want people that need support to be able to access it, and for maternity conditions to be improved for all. This is my full time work, I have 15 years experience and I adore it. In order to attempt to maintain continuity I limit my clients to 2 birth packages per month (unless I’m sharing care or have an agreed back up arrangement). Behind the scenes, much of my time is spent on unpaid birth related community work, fostering relationships within and between the local maternity care systems and working to try to improve local birth services for those I work with directly as well as those I don’t.

A small selection of the organisations I am a member of in order to remain on the pulse of current maternity research, thinking and culture change are linked at the bottom of this site. I’ve found that longevity in this game requires a great deal of investment in continual professional and personal development and I take both seriously.

So, to balance fair recompense for what I do with as much accessibility as possible, I offer sliding scale fees, payment plans and aim to provide at least 2 low/ accessible birth support packages per year as well as facilitating freely accessible peer support groups and providing low cost or free crisis line consultation.

Please know that if your resources allow it and you are able to pay higher band fee for any of my services, you’re part of a lovely reciprocal model that supports those that can’t. Please know that if you’re in a lower resource bracket, you’re welcome here.

If you’re into this and would like another way to support me in this model of working and pay it forward, consider donating to my ko-fi fund.

Please get in touch if you’d like to be added to a local peer support group for pregnant and new parents (free) or join free monthly birth choices meetings with myself and other powerhouse local doula Betty.

The balance of antenatal, labour and postnatal support may vary according to your needs and wishes but below is a fairly typical birth package as a rough guide. My fees work on a higher/middle/lower/accessible scale and you are invited to select which band you think fits your circumstances and let me know when you enquire with me. This model is obviously based on kindness and openness so please do carefully consider which band reflects what you can afford.

Household income isn’t always the best way to assess means but here as a guide for which band may apply to you:

Higher: household income of £65k upwards

Middle: household income of £30k upwards

Lower: household income of up to £30k

Accessible: financial hardship
